Savour Food Festival

27th – 30th October 2017

One of Ireland’s favourite food festivals is back and very proud to be celebrating its 11th anniversary in 2017. Savour Kilkenny Food Festival, each year develops a programme of activities, which embraces all sectors of the food community from artisan producers to restaurateurs, food agencies to food farmers. This year we welcome back the ever popular Savour Village – a foodie haven with heaps of delicious tempting food stalls, more celebrity Chef cooking demo’s, talks, workshops, competitions and unique dinning events.

Rockfall Music Festival

Friday 27th to Monday 30th October 2017 

The Rockfall Festival takes place over the October Bank Holiday weekend in October in venues throughout Kilkenny City. This Festival is Kilkenny’s longest running festival. The Music festival began in 1989 with six music venues around Kilkenny City and was run over three nights.This festival which runs over the October Bank Holiday and is jam-packed with exciting events and sure to offer something for all tastes and ages: with live music and street entertainment.


Thursday 9th November to Sunday 12th November 

2017 will mark the 8th edition of Kilkenomics – Europe’s first economics festival – which brings together some of the world’s leading economists, financial analysts and media commentators with some of our funniest, sharpest standup comedians. Kilkenomics has been called “Davos with jokes” and we wouldn’t disagree with that assessment.

Subtitle Film Festival

Monday 20th to Sunday 26th November 2017

SUBTITLE is Ireland’s newest film festival and a unique opportunity to catch some of the most popular European films that can’t be found at the multiplex. And a chance to meet their makers and stars. If you’re looking for provocative, funny, accessible and smart European films, then SUBTITLE is for you.

Roots Festival

The Smithwick’s Kilkenny Roots Festival will return in 2018 during the May Bank Holiday. The medieval streets play host to a huge range of music in the 30 plus venues with over 40 Irish and international act from early afternoon until late into the night. There’s a mixture of old and new acts on the free pub gig trail and all styles are catered for, from swing to bluegrass, rockabilly to cajun, folk, blues and beyond.

23rd Sky Cat Laughs Comedy Festival 2018

The June Bank Holiday brings the hilarious Sky Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, a world class comedy festival featuring the very best in Irish and international talent. The programme blends the top Irish and international talent in shows featuring globally renowned comic stars as well as newcomers and break-through acts. The festival attracts in excess of 30,000 visitors to Kilkenny.
